About Grassland Estates
Grassland Estates is a neighborhood of approximately 130 homes located in the heart of the historic Grassland Community in Franklin, Tennessee.
In April 2026, we formalized the organization that has long taken care of shared community responsibilities. Grassland Estates Community Organization, Inc. is now a registered Tennessee nonprofit corporation, run by a volunteer board of neighbors.
A few important things to know:
- We are not a homeowners association
- There are no required fees, dues, or assessments
- Contributions are voluntary
- We have no authority to impose liens or enforce covenants
What the organization does is coordinate and pay for the shared things that make our neighborhood feel like a neighborhood:
- Landscaping at both Hillsboro Road entrances
- Neighborhood signage
- Electricity for the streetlight at Hillsboro and Bobby
- Seasonal mulch refreshes and entrance upkeep
Our annual operating budget runs approximately $4,415, or about $368 per month. Every dollar contributed flows through an official organizational account with full financial transparency. Any member of the community can request to review the financial records at any time.
The current board:
- Kyle Chowning, President
- Denise Gross, Secretary
